The CONTINENTAL CONTITECH 20052280 is a cogged V-belt in the 5VX section, designed for heavy-duty power transmission in industrial and commercial HVAC, agricultural, and mechanical drive applications. Manufactured from fiber-reinforced Wingprene rubber, this belt delivers oil resistance and durability under high-load, high-heat operating conditions. The cogged construction reduces bending resistance and heat buildup, allowing the belt to run on smaller sheave diameters while maintaining efficient torque transfer. At 106 inches outside length, it fits a range of drive configurations where standard wrapped belts fall short. Installation is handled by qualified mechanical or HVAC technicians familiar with belt-drive systems.
This belt suits power transmission drives found in commercial HVAC air handlers, industrial fans, compressors, pumps, and similar equipment requiring a 5VX-section cogged belt. The HY-T Wedge Matchmaker Cogged profile allows matched-set use in multi-belt drive configurations, ensuring even load distribution across the span. The 5VX1060 belt number is the standard industry cross-reference designation for this belt. It is appropriate for use where oil-resistant belt materials are specified by the equipment manufacturer or installation environment.
Designed as a direct replacement for any drive system specifying a 5VX section cogged V-belt with a 106 inches outside length, cross-referenced as belt number 5VX1060.
Belt-drive service should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or mechanical tradesperson. Disconnect and lock out all power to the drive unit before removing or installing belts. Use a sheave gauge to verify groove profile compatibility before installation, and set proper belt tension using a tension gauge rather than deflection estimation alone. Never use belt dressing compounds on cogged or Wingprene rubber belts, as these can degrade the compound and void fitment integrity.
