The CONTINENTAL CONTITECH 20042771 is a fractional horsepower cogged V-belt designed for light-duty power transmission in HVAC, agricultural, and general industrial equipment. Built from high-traction rubber with a cogged profile, this belt delivers improved flexibility and reduced heat buildup compared to standard wrapped belts. It carries a 4L section designation with a 43.0 inch outside length and a 42.0 inch internal length. The cogged construction allows it to run over smaller sheave diameters while maintaining grip and reducing slippage. HVAC technicians, mechanical contractors, and equipment service professionals install this belt type in blower, fan, and motor drive applications.
This belt is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC systems, specifically in air handlers, furnace blowers, and condenser fan assemblies that use fractional horsepower drives. It is also used in general shop equipment and agricultural machinery where 4L-section belts are specified. The cogged design makes it compatible with standard 4L sheaves and pulleys. Installations where space is limited or where higher flex cycles are required benefit from the cogged profile over a conventional wrapped belt of the same section.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for fractional horsepower drives using 4L-section V-belts, also commonly cross-referenced as belt number 4L430.
Installation of V-belts should be performed by qualified HVAC technicians or mechanical service professionals. Always disconnect and lock out power to the unit before removing belt guards or servicing sheaves. Never force a belt onto a sheave with a pry tool; adjust the motor mounting plate or tensioner to create enough slack for hand installation, then re-tension per the equipment manufacturer specification. Inspect sheave grooves for wear or misalignment before installing a replacement belt, as worn grooves will reduce belt life regardless of belt quality.
