The CONTINENTAL CONTITECH 20042568 is a cogged V-belt in the 5VX section, designed for high-performance power transmission in HVAC, industrial, and mechanical drive applications. Built from fiber reinforced Wingprene rubber, this belt delivers reliable torque transfer under demanding load cycles. The cogged construction reduces bending stress, runs cooler, and improves flexibility compared to standard raw-edge or wrapped belts. With an outside length of 51 inches and an oil-resistant compound, it holds up in environments where belt slippage or fluid exposure can cause premature wear. This belt carries the 5VX510 belt number designation. HVAC technicians and mechanical service professionals install this type of belt on blower drives, compressor drives, and other V-drive systems.
The 5VX510 cogged V-belt is suited for residential and commercial HVAC blower assemblies, refrigeration condensing unit drives, and general industrial machinery using 5VX-section sheaves. The HY-T Wedge Matchmaker cogged style is engineered for matched-set applications where belt-to-belt consistency matters. It fits standard 5VX-groove sheaves and is appropriate for both single-belt and matched multi-belt drive configurations in equipment that requires consistent tension and minimal vibration across the drive.
Designed as a direct replacement for drives requiring a 5VX510 cogged V-belt with a 51-inch outside length and standard 5VX-section sheave groove profile.
Belt replacement should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or mechanical drive service professional with the drive system fully de-energized and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Never pry a V-belt onto a sheave under tension; always use the adjustment mechanism to relieve tension before removal and installation. Check sheave groove wear and alignment before installing a new belt, as misalignment and worn grooves accelerate belt failure. On matched multi-belt drives, replace all belts in the set simultaneously to maintain even load distribution.
