The CONTINENTAL CONTITECH 20042540 is a 3V section V-belt designed for wedge-drive power transmission applications in HVAC, industrial, and mechanical equipment. Built from fiber reinforced Wingprene rubber, this belt delivers reliable torque transfer in demanding service conditions, including environments where oil exposure is a concern. The 3V600 designation reflects the 3V cross-section profile and 60-inch outside length. The HY-T Wedge Matchmaker Envelope construction is engineered to match wedge sheave geometry closely, reducing slippage and heat buildup under load. This belt is installed by HVAC technicians, millwrights, and mechanical service professionals.
This belt is suited for use in blower drives, fan drives, compressor drives, and similar belt-driven equipment found in residential and commercial HVAC systems as well as light industrial machinery. The 3V section is commonly used in fractional to mid-range horsepower drive configurations. Its oil-resistant compound makes it appropriate for equipment rooms and mechanical spaces where fluid contamination is possible. Sold individually, it is a direct replacement solution for worn or failed 3V600 belts in existing drive systems.
Designed as a 3V600 OEM-style replacement belt for wedge-sheave drive systems requiring a 3V section belt with a 60-inch outside length, typical in residential and commercial HVAC blower and fan drive applications.
Belt installation and tensioning should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or mechanical service professional with the drive system fully de-energized and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Never force a belt onto a sheave with a pry bar, as this can damage the reinforcement cords and shorten belt life. Check sheave alignment and condition before installing a replacement belt, and set tension per the drive manufacturer's recommendations using a belt tension gauge.
