The CONTINENTAL CONTITECH 20042088 is a Section B classical V-belt designed for power transmission in HVAC, industrial, and mechanical drive applications. Built with Wingprene rubber-impregnated fabric construction, this belt delivers reliable grip and flex under continuous load. It carries a 73-inch outside length (B70 designation, 71.80-inch internal length) and is rated for operating temperatures from -40 degrees F to 284 degrees F (-40 degrees C to 140 degrees C). This is an HY-T Matchmaker style belt, engineered for matched-set applications where drive balance is critical. HVAC technicians, mechanical contractors, and maintenance professionals are the primary installers.
This belt is used on fan drives, blower assemblies, pump drives, and general power transmission systems requiring a standard Section B V-belt. It is suited for both residential and light commercial HVAC equipment, including air handlers, rooftop units, and condenser fan assemblies, as well as a wide range of industrial machinery that uses B-section sheaves. The HY-T Matchmaker designation makes it suitable for use in matched sets on multi-groove drives where tension and length consistency across belts is required.
Designed as a direct replacement for B70 section classical V-belts used in standard B-section sheave drive systems across HVAC fan and blower assemblies, pump drives, and general industrial power transmission equipment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or mechanical maintenance professional. Always de-energize and lock out the equipment before removing or installing the belt. Do not roll or pry the belt onto sheaves — adjust center distance to allow the belt to seat properly, then re-tension according to the equipment manufacturer's deflection or tension specification. Inspect sheaves for wear or misalignment before installing a new belt, as damaged sheaves will shorten belt service life.
