The CONTINENTAL CONTITECH 20041990 is a Section A V-belt designed for power transmission in HVAC, industrial, and mechanical drive applications. Built from Wingprene rubber-impregnated fabric, this belt delivers reliable resistance to heat and oil — two of the most common failure conditions in commercial and residential equipment drives. The belt carries an outside length of 67.2 inches and an internal length of 66.30 inches, designated as belt number A65. It is rated for a maximum working temperature of 140 degrees C and a minimum working temperature of -40 degrees C, making it suitable for year-round service across a wide range of climates and equipment types. HVAC technicians and mechanical contractors are the primary installers.
This V-belt is used in belt-driven systems found in air handling units, condenser fans, blowers, compressors, pumps, and general mechanical drive assemblies. The Section A profile fits standard A-section sheaves and pulleys. The HY-T Matchmaker style designation makes it compatible with matched-set drive configurations where consistent belt dimensions are critical to balanced operation. This belt is sold individually and is suited for both single-belt drives and replacement of a single belt in a multi-belt set.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement V-belt for Section A sheave drives in HVAC, blower, fan, and general mechanical power transmission applications.
Installation is typically performed by HVAC technicians or mechanical service personnel. Power down and lock out the equipment before removing the old belt or installing the new one. Verify sheave alignment and check for sheave wear before seating the new belt. Do not pry or roll the belt onto a sheave — loosen the drive to allow proper installation without overstressing the belt.
