The CONTINENTAL CONTITECH 20041971 is a Section A V-belt designed for power transmission applications in HVAC, industrial, and mechanical drive systems. Built from Wingprene rubber-impregnated fabric, this belt delivers strong resistance to heat and oil, making it well-suited for demanding service environments. The outside length measures 48.2 inches with an internal length of 47.30 inches. It carries the HY-T Matchmaker designation and belt number A46. Rated for a maximum working temperature of 140 degrees C and a minimum of -40 degrees C, it maintains performance across a wide thermal range. HVAC technicians and mechanical contractors install this belt as a direct drive or belt-drive component in fans, blowers, and compressor assemblies.
This belt is appropriate for residential and light commercial HVAC equipment, as well as general industrial machinery that uses Section A drive belts. Typical applications include belt-driven air handlers, condenser fan assemblies, exhaust fans, and pump drives. The Section A cross-section is one of the most common V-belt profiles in trade use, fitting a wide range of sheaves and pulleys manufactured to that standard. It conforms to DIN 2215 and DIN 7753 standards, confirming interchangeability with equipment specifying those ratings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement Section A V-belt for HVAC, fan, blower, and general industrial drive applications specifying an A46 belt per DIN 2215 or DIN 7753 standards.
Installation is typically performed by HVAC technicians or mechanical maintenance technicians. De-energize and lock out the equipment before removing the old belt or accessing the drive assembly. Do not pry or force the belt over sheave flanges; always release tension at the motor mount or tensioner before fitting the new belt. After seating the belt, adjust drive tension according to the equipment manufacturer's specification and verify sheave alignment before returning the unit to service.
