The CONTINENTAL CONTITECH 20039612 is a BX-section cogged V-belt designed for power transmission in HVAC, industrial, and mechanical drive applications. Built from fiber-reinforced Vytracord, this belt delivers reliable torque transfer with reduced flex heat and improved efficiency over standard V-belts. The cogged profile allows the belt to bend more easily around smaller sheaves while maintaining grip under load. It carries an outside length of 102 inches and an internal length of 100.80 inches, placing it in the BX99 belt designation. At 1.2 pounds, it is a direct-fit replacement for drive systems calling for a BX99 belt. Oil-resistant construction extends service life in environments where fluid exposure is a concern.
This belt is used in residential and light commercial HVAC systems, agricultural equipment, and general industrial drive assemblies wherever a BX-section cogged belt is specified. Typical installations include blower drive assemblies on air handlers and rooftop units, as well as pump and compressor drives in light industrial settings. The Torque-Flex style construction is suited for high-torque, variable-load conditions. It performs across a wide operating temperature range, from -40 degrees C to 60 degrees C, making it suitable for outdoor mechanical systems in cold climates as well as heated equipment rooms.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for drive systems specifying a BX99 cogged V-belt with a 102-inch outside length and BX-section profile.
Belt replacement is typically performed by HVAC technicians or mechanical service professionals. Before servicing, disconnect and lock out all power to the driven equipment per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Loosen the motor mounting or tensioning bracket to relieve belt tension before removal, and inspect sheaves for wear or misalignment prior to installing the new belt. Never pry the belt over sheave flanges or use tools that could cut or kink the belt cords, as this compromises tensile integrity.
