The CONTINENTAL CONTITECH 20017207 is a straight radiator hose designed for coolant transfer in automotive and light-duty engine cooling systems. Constructed from Versgard EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber, it handles coolant flow between the radiator and engine block with reliable resistance to heat, pressure, and coolant chemistry. The hose measures 3 feet in length with an inside diameter of 1.625 inches, rated to 150 psi maximum working pressure and 260 degrees F maximum temperature. HVAC and automotive service technicians install this hose as a direct replacement during cooling system service or when the original hose shows cracking, swelling, or collapse.
This hose suits residential and commercial vehicle cooling system applications where a straight-run hose is required between fixed connection points spaced along a 3-foot run. The EPDM construction provides strong resistance to ozone, weathering, and the ethylene glycol-based coolants used in most engine cooling systems. It is appropriate for use in standard radiator-to-engine or radiator-to-overflow-tank plumbing configurations where a 1.625-inch inside diameter straight hose is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement straight radiator hose for applications requiring a 1.625-inch inside diameter, 3-foot straight coolant hose rated to 150 psi and 260 degrees F.
Drain and depressurize the cooling system fully before removing any existing hose. Inspect hose clamps and fittings for corrosion or wear and replace as needed before installing the new hose. Allow the engine to cool completely prior to service to prevent scalding from residual coolant. Refill the system with the correct coolant mixture per the vehicle or equipment manufacturer specification and check for leaks after startup.
