The CONN-AIR w188c-1331 is an 18-gauge, 8-conductor PVC-jacketed thermostat wire supplied on a 250-foot spool. It is designed for low-voltage control wiring in residential and light commercial HVAC systems, connecting thermostats, air handlers, heat pumps, and control boards. The 18 AWG stranded conductors provide adequate current-carrying capacity for multi-stage and multi-zone control circuits. The PVC jacket resists moisture and mechanical abrasion during routing through walls, ceilings, and conduit. UL listed. Licensed HVAC technicians and HVAC installers use this wire during new installations and service replacements where multi-conductor thermostat cable is required.
This thermostat wire is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC control wiring applications where 8 conductors are needed to support multi-stage heating and cooling, heat pump reversing valve circuits, emergency heat, humidifier control, or zoning accessories. The 250-foot spool length is practical for whole-house runs or multiple shorter replacement pulls on a single job. The replacement part number for this wire is 553080407 per supplier documentation.
Designed as a standard 18 AWG 8-conductor low-voltage thermostat wire replacement for residential and light commercial HVAC control wiring applications. Replaces part number 553080407 per supplier documentation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with NEC Class 2 low-voltage wiring requirements. Power down the HVAC system at the disconnect and thermostat before removing or connecting any thermostat wiring. Route wire away from high-voltage conductors and sharp edges to protect the PVC jacket. Do not exceed the voltage and current ratings specified for Class 2 low-voltage control circuits.
