The CONBRACO 77-109-46 is a 2-piece, full-port, in-line ball valve built for demanding fluid control applications in commercial and industrial piping systems. The bronze body (UNS C84400, ASTM B584) delivers corrosion resistance and structural integrity across a wide service range. Cold working pressure is rated at 600 psi, steam working pressure at 150 psi, and the valve handles temperatures up to 500 degrees F. The full-port 2-1/2 inch bore minimizes flow restriction, and a Cv of 503 confirms high flow capacity. The closed-position latch-lock lever handle prevents accidental opening, making it well suited for safety-critical shutoff service. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This valve is designed for in-line installation in 2-1/2 inch FNPT-threaded piping systems. Typical applications include commercial HVAC hydronic systems, industrial process lines, and plumbing distribution headers where a reliable full-bore shutoff with tamper-resistant handle control is required. The RPTFE seats and packing provide tight shutoff and low-torque operation across hot and cold liquid service. The chrome-plated brass ball (UNS C37700, ASTM B16 or ASTM B283) and PTFE seals contribute to long service life in both clean and mildly aggressive fluid service.
Designed for 2-1/2 inch FNPT-threaded piping systems as part of the Apollo Valves Series 77-100 in-line ball valve family. Suitable for hot and cold liquid service within the rated pressure and temperature limits.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC and ASME B31 piping code requirements. Isolate and depressurize the line completely before installation or removal. Apply thread sealant appropriate for the service fluid to FNPT connections — do not overtighten, as bronze fittings can crack under excessive torque. Confirm system operating pressure and temperature do not exceed the valve ratings before returning the line to service.
