The COLEMAN CABLE S1-7975-3281 is a fan/limit switch designed for furnace applications. This control monitors plenum temperature and serves two functions: it signals the blower motor to start and stop based on air temperature, and it shuts down the burner if the heat exchanger reaches an unsafe high-limit temperature. The switch is rated for 90/110D control operation. Licensed HVAC technicians install this component as part of routine furnace service or when diagnosing no-heat or no-fan faults in forced-air heating systems.
This fan/limit switch is suited for residential and light-commercial forced-air furnace installations. It fits into systems where the plenum-mounted or duct-mounted limit control governs both blower sequencing and high-limit safety shutoff. Installers replace this switch when the furnace fan fails to cycle on or off correctly, or when nuisance high-limit trips are traced to a faulty control rather than an airflow restriction.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fan/limit switch for residential and light-commercial forced-air furnace systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Shut off all electrical power and gas supply to the furnace at the service disconnect and gas shutoff valve before removing the existing switch. Verify the replacement switch mounting configuration and sensing element depth match the original before securing. Work should comply with applicable mechanical and electrical codes, including NEC and IFGC requirements for the jurisdiction.
