The CODA RESOURCES 506640 is a galvanized malleable iron reducing coupling designed to join two pipes of different diameters. It steps down from a 1-1/4 inch female thread to a 1 inch female thread, making it a standard fitting for transitioning pipe sizes in water supply and light industrial piping systems. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance and a clean silver appearance. At 2.1 inches wide and 2 inches tall, this cylindrical fitting is compact and straightforward to thread onto standard NPT pipe ends. Plumbers, pipefitters, and general contractors install this type of fitting wherever a pipe diameter reduction is required in a threaded iron pipe system.
The 506640 reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial water piping applications where a threaded galvanized iron connection is specified. It is also widely used in decorative pipe fabrication, including shelving, clothing racks, furniture frames, and similar structural builds that use standard iron pipe fittings. The malleable iron construction handles both functional plumbing service and static structural loads. This fitting is consistent with PIPE DECOR product family components and carries product ID FMGRC-1141.
Designed for use with standard NPT-threaded galvanized iron pipe in 1-1/4 inch and 1 inch sizes. Compatible with PIPE DECOR pipe fittings and accessories per product ID FMGRC-1141.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or experienced pipefitters using standard pipe wrenches and thread sealant tape or pipe dope rated for the intended service. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Do not over-tighten malleable iron fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque. For potable water applications, verify that all sealants and fittings are rated for drinking water service per applicable local plumbing codes.
