The CODA RESOURCES 506322 is a galvanized malleable iron bushing designed to reduce a 3/4-inch female fitting down to a 1/2-inch male connection. This type of reducing bushing is a standard component in threaded pipe assemblies where two different pipe sizes need to mate at a single joint. The fitting measures 1.35 inches in width, 1.35 inches in length, and 0.88 inches in height. The galvanized finish provides a silver, corrosion-resistant exterior suited for both functional pipe installations and decorative pipe fabrication projects.
This bushing is used in residential and light commercial pipe fitting work, including water supply lines and decorative pipe furniture or fixture assemblies. It threads directly into a 3/4-inch female-threaded fitting and accepts a 1/2-inch male-threaded pipe or fitting on the opposite end. Plumbers, pipefitters, and skilled DIYers working with threaded iron pipe systems will encounter this fitting in a range of retrofit and new-construction contexts.
Designed as a standard reducing bushing for 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch NPT threaded malleable iron pipe systems used in water service and decorative pipe assemblies. Also listed under product ID FMGB-3412.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or experienced pipefitter. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before threading any fitting into an active line. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly to ensure a leak-free joint. Do not over-tighten malleable iron fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque.
