The CODA RESOURCES 506232 is a black reducing tee pipe fitting designed for joining three sections of pipe at a single point while accommodating two different pipe sizes. The tee features two 1/2-inch run ports and one 3/4-inch branch port, allowing a change in flow direction while stepping down or up in pipe diameter within the same fitting. This type of fitting is common in plumbing, industrial piping, and structural pipe systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in branch-line configurations where the main run and the branch require different pipe diameters.
This reducing tee is suited for use in residential and light commercial plumbing systems, gas distribution lines, and structural black pipe assemblies. The 1/2-inch by 1/2-inch by 3/4-inch configuration is a standard size for branch takeoffs from a larger main line, or for reducing a main run down to a smaller lateral. It is appropriate for any application where black threaded pipe fittings are specified by design or code.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for standard black threaded pipe systems using 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch NPT connections.
Black reducing tees are installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters in accordance with applicable local plumbing and gas codes, including IPC and IFGC where relevant. Shut off gas or water supply and depressurize the line completely before removing any existing fittings. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the intended service to all male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten threaded connections, as cracking the fitting body will compromise the seal.
