The COATING hcast-vg181-wht is a white mastic sealant supplied in a one-gallon container, designed for sealing ductwork joints, seams, and connections in HVAC air distribution systems. Mastic sealant is a fiber-reinforced or paste-based compound that cures to form a flexible, airtight seal over sheet metal, fiberglass duct board, and flex duct connections. It is a standard material on residential and light commercial duct installation and commissioning jobs. HVAC installers and sheet metal mechanics apply this product to reduce air leakage and maintain system efficiency across supply and return duct networks.
White mastic duct sealant is used in both new construction and retrofit applications where duct sealing is required to meet energy codes or building inspection standards. It is applied by brush or gloved hand to duct joints, takeoffs, collars, and fittings before or after system startup. The one-gallon size is appropriate for single-system residential jobs or as a component of a larger commercial duct sealing scope.
Designed as an OEM-style duct sealing compound for use on residential and light commercial HVAC air distribution systems requiring brush-applied mastic at joints, seams, and fittings.
Applied by licensed HVAC technicians or sheet metal mechanics in accordance with SMACNA duct construction standards and local energy codes. Power down the air handling system before sealing live duct connections where access requires working near moving components. Apply mastic in a continuous, gap-free coat over joints; mesh tape may be embedded for wide gaps or duct board seams. Allow adequate cure time before system pressurization and duct leakage testing.
