The CLIMAX METAL PRODUCTS C192E-162 is a shaft locking device designed to secure rotating shafts to hubs, collars, or pulleys in mechanical power transmission assemblies. It features a 1-5/8 inch bore diameter and a 2-5/8 inch outer diameter, with an overall width of 1-11/16 inches. Eight clamping screws distribute clamping force evenly around the shaft, allowing the device to handle a maximum torque rating of 8,895 foot-pounds. Maintenance technicians and millwrights install this type of locking device where keyless, concentric shaft retention is required on industrial or commercial equipment.
This locking device is suited for use in a range of mechanical drive applications including conveyor systems, pump assemblies, fan drives, and gear reducers where a reliable, high-torque shaft connection is needed. It is appropriate for both new equipment builds and retrofit or replacement installations where a keyless locking solution is preferred over traditional keyed hubs or set-screw collars.
Designed as an OEM-style shaft locking device for mechanical power transmission applications requiring a 1-5/8 inch bore and 2-5/8 inch outer diameter locking collar.
Installation is typically performed by a millwright or qualified mechanical technician. De-energize and lock out all power to the equipment before beginning shaft work, following LOTO procedures in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147. Ensure shaft and bore surfaces are clean and free of oil, grease, or debris before seating the locking device. Tighten clamping screws in a star pattern using a calibrated torque wrench to achieve balanced clamping force across all eight screws.
