The CLIMAX METAL PRODUCTS 2C-068-S is a two-piece split shaft collar designed for positive shaft positioning in mechanical and industrial drive assemblies. Machined from 303 stainless steel with a plain bore and plain finish, it accommodates a 0.688-inch bore diameter and measures 1.5 inches in outside diameter and 0.5 inches wide. The two-piece split design allows the collar to be installed or removed without disassembling the shaft or adjacent components, making it well-suited for maintenance-intensive applications. Licensed millwrights, mechanical technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals are the typical installers.
This shaft collar fits applications where corrosion resistance is a priority, such as food processing equipment, pump assemblies, marine drive systems, and other wet or chemically exposed environments. The 303 stainless steel construction holds up in conditions where carbon steel collars would degrade. The two-piece split configuration is commonly used on horizontal and vertical shafts where bearing retention, component spacing, or stop positioning is required. It is part of the CLIMAX METAL PRODUCTS 2C series, manufactured under ISO 9001:2008 quality standards.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit shaft collar for mechanical drive assemblies requiring a 0.688-inch bore, 1.5-inch OD, two-piece split collar in 303 stainless steel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified millwright or mechanical technician. De-energize all rotating equipment and lock out or tag out power sources before installing or adjusting shaft collars. Align the two collar halves evenly around the shaft before fastening to ensure balanced clamping force and proper axial positioning. Do not overtighten fasteners beyond manufacturer-specified torque values found in the CLIMAX METAL PRODUCTS installation documentation for the 2C series.
