The CLIMAX METAL PRODUCTS 2C-037-A is a two-piece split shaft collar designed to secure, locate, and retain rotating or stationary shafts across a wide range of mechanical and industrial applications. Machined from 6061-T651 aluminum, this collar offers a lightweight profile while maintaining reliable clamping performance. It features a plain bore diameter of 0.375 inches and an outside diameter of 0.875 inches, with a width of 0.375 inches. The two-piece split design allows installation and removal without disassembling adjacent components on the shaft, making it a practical choice for maintenance-driven workflows. Licensed mechanical technicians, millwrights, and equipment maintenance professionals are the typical installers.
This collar is suited for use in light-duty shaft positioning applications found in conveyor systems, motor assemblies, pump drives, and general industrial machinery. The compact dimensions make it appropriate for space-constrained assemblies where a one-piece collar would require full shaft disassembly for service. The plain bore accepts standard shaft diameters of 0.375 inches and works with both metric and inch-based equipment designs given its 22.225 mm equivalent outside diameter. It is manufactured to ISO 9001:2008 quality standards, making it appropriate for applications where documented quality processes are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit shaft collar for mechanical assemblies requiring a 0.375-inch bore, two-piece split style collar in the 2C series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified millwright or mechanical technician. Before installing or removing a shaft collar, de-energize the connected equipment and lock out the power source following applicable LOTO procedures. The two-piece design requires the fastening hardware to be torqued evenly on both halves to ensure balanced clamping force on the shaft. Avoid over-tightening on soft or undersized shafts, as aluminum collars can deform the shaft surface if excessive force is applied.
