The CLEVELAND C73477 is a wire gauge No. 49 jobber length drill bit machined from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish. It measures 0.0730 inches in diameter and 2 inches in overall length, with a 1-inch flute length and a matching 1-inch straight-cylindrical shank. The 118-degree split point reduces walking on entry and lowers the thrust required to start a hole. A tapered web with web thinning supports chip evacuation during through-hole drilling. This bit is designed for machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators who need a reliable small-diameter drill that holds tight diameter tolerances in production or repair work.
The C73477 is rated for primary use in aluminum and is suited to light-duty drilling in soft metals, plastics, and similar materials where a small wire gauge diameter is required. The regular spiral flute geometry and right-hand cut make it compatible with standard drill presses, CNC drilling centers, and hand-held pneumatic or electric drills. It conforms to NAS 907 Type A standards, making it appropriate for aerospace maintenance and general industrial shops that spec NAS-compliant tooling. Each unit is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 12 pieces per order.
Designed as an NAS 907 Type A compliant jobber length drill bit for use in aluminum and similar soft materials. Fits any standard chuck or collet accepting a 0.0730-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Install into a properly sized chuck or collet and confirm the shank is fully seated before operation. Use cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling aluminum to extend tool life and improve hole finish. Secure the workpiece firmly to prevent movement at entry, especially critical at this small diameter where bit deflection and breakage risk increase with unsupported stock. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace bits that show chipping or wear to maintain hole tolerance.
