The CLEVELAND C73419 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for accurate, clean-entry drilling in metal and general trade applications. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, the bit delivers consistent performance without the added cost of specialty coatings. The 118-degree split point reduces walking on entry and lowers feed pressure at the start of a cut. At 4-7/8 inches overall length with a 3-1/2 inch flute length, it fits standard drill chucks and magnetic-base drill setups. It is suited for HVAC sheet metal work, plumbing rough-in drilling, and general mechanical trade use where a reliable, general-purpose bit is needed.
This bit is sized at 23/64 inch (0.3594 inch decimal) with a straight-cylindrical shank of matching diameter, making it compatible with keyed and keyless chucks across corded drills, drill presses, and magnetic drill units. The web-thinned, tapered web construction reduces thrust requirements and improves chip clearance in deeper holes. It carries a NAS 907 Type A designation, indicating it meets aerospace and heavy-duty industrial dimensional and tolerance standards. Primary listed workpiece material is aluminum, though the bit is appropriate for use across a broad range of non-hardened metals and plastics common in trade work.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard addition to jobber-length drill sets in trade and industrial environments. Straight-cylindrical shank fits all standard keyed and keyless chucks accepting bits up to 1/2 inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece material listed is aluminum per manufacturer specs.
Install in a drill press or hand drill using a properly rated chuck; confirm the chuck jaws are fully tightened before operation. Always power down and unplug or de-energize the drill before changing bits. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling through aluminum or steel to extend bit life and improve hole quality. Eye protection and secure workpiece clamping are required per standard shop safety practice.
