The CLEVELAND C72105 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose hole-making in metal, wood, and plastics. Built from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this bit features a 118-degree standard point angle and a web-thinned, tapered web design that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation at the start of the cut. The wire size 5 diameter measures 0.2055 inches, with an overall length of 3.75 inches and a spiral flute length of 2.5 inches. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.2055 inches in diameter, making it compatible with standard drill chucks. It cuts right-hand with two regular spiral flutes at a 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio.
The C72105 is a Series 2002G general-purpose drill bit suited for light-duty machining and maintenance applications in metal fabrication, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work. It is sized in the wire gauge series for precision hole sizing where fractional bits do not provide a close enough fit. Typical applications include pilot holes, clearance holes, and light-material through-drilling in shop and field environments. No coolant-through capability means it is best suited for conventional hand-held or bench-drill use rather than deep-hole CNC applications.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose jobber drill bit compatible with any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.2055-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Conforms to ASME B94.11M and DIN 338 dimensional standards per the ANSI specification designation.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists, maintenance technicians, or trade professionals familiar with drill press or hand-drill operation. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and ensure the chuck is fully tightened on the shank before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid for ferrous metals to extend bit life and reduce heat buildup. Replace the bit if the cutting edge shows visible wear, chipping, or if hole diameter tolerance falls outside acceptable range.
