The CLEVELAND C71210 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal, wood, and plastic. Built from high speed steel with an oxide finish coating, it offers adequate lubricity and corrosion resistance for everyday production and maintenance drilling tasks. The bit features a 118-degree standard point angle, a two-flute spiral configuration, and a web-thinned, tapered web design that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation at the tip. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.0591 inches in diameter, and the overall length is 1.575 inches. This bit is sized at 1.5 mm (0.0591 inches) in diameter and is appropriate for machinists, maintenance technicians, and toolroom operators.
The C71210 is suited for light-duty general-purpose drilling in shop and field environments. Its jobber-length geometry makes it a standard reach option for most bench drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling operations where a short to mid-length bit is appropriate. The regular spiral flute promotes consistent chip clearing in through-hole and shallow drilling applications. The right-hand cut direction is standard for conventional clockwise-rotating spindles. This bit is manufactured to ASME B94.11M and DIN 338 specifications, confirming dimensional consistency across the production run.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks accepting a straight-cylindrical shank of 0.0591 inches diameter, suitable for bench drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling spindles.
This bit is installed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a standard drill chuck keyed or keyless in accordance with the spindle specifications of the drilling equipment. Always power down and de-energize the drilling machine before changing bits. Secure the shank fully in the chuck to the recommended grip depth before applying torque to the chuck key. Inspect the cutting edges and web for wear or chipping before each use; discard bits that show visible damage to avoid workpiece damage or bit breakage.
