The CLEVELAND C71203 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal, wood, and plastic. It features a 1.15 mm (0.0453 inch) diameter, a 118-degree standard point angle, and is manufactured from high-speed steel with an oxide finish that helps reduce friction and resist wear. The straight-cylindrical shank and two-flute spiral design allow for reliable chip evacuation in light-duty drilling operations. This bit is built to DIN 338 and ASME B94.11M standards and is suited for use with standard drill chucks and hand-held or bench-mounted equipment. It is commonly installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, electricians, and plumbers performing precision small-diameter drilling tasks.
The C71203 is rated for general-purpose drilling applications where a small-diameter, close-tolerance hole is required. Its 1.417-inch overall length and 0.551-inch flute length make it well-suited for shallow-to-medium-depth holes in thin-gauge material. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust requirements and improves centering. This bit falls within the 0.00 to 2.00 mm drill size range and is packaged individually, though it is sold in minimum order quantities of 12 units.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks used in handheld drills, drill presses, and CNC equipment accepting 0.0453-inch shank diameters.
This drill bit is installed by machinists, electricians, plumbers, and maintenance technicians using standard drill chucks. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before drilling and verify the chuck is tightened properly to prevent slippage. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubrication when drilling metal to extend tool life and maintain dimensional accuracy. Inspect the bit for wear or chipping before each use, as small-diameter bits are susceptible to breakage under excessive lateral force or feed pressure.
