The CLEVELAND C71201 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal, wood, and similar materials. Built from high speed steel with an oxide coating, this bit measures 1.05 mm (0.0413 inches) in diameter and carries an overall length of 1.339 inches. The 118-degree standard point angle and web-thinned tip geometry promote accurate starting and reduce thrust during drilling. A regular-spiral, two-flute configuration evacuates chips efficiently along the flute length of 0.472 inches. This bit is part of the Cleveland Series 2001G and conforms to ASME B94.11M and DIN 338 standards. It is sold individually and typically used by machinists, tool-and-die shops, and maintenance professionals.
The C71201 is suited for light-duty precision drilling applications where small-diameter hole quality matters. Its straight-cylindrical shank with a diameter of 0.0413 inches seats securely in standard drill chucks and collets. The right-hand cutting direction and regular spiral make this bit compatible with conventional drilling equipment. It is a practical choice for production environments, repair shops, and fabrication work requiring consistent small-bore results. The 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web design support clean hole entry and exit in a variety of workpiece materials.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit compatible with standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 0.0413-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This bit is installed and operated by machinists or maintenance technicians using a drill press, hand drill, or CNC drilling equipment. Secure the straight shank firmly in the chuck before operating to prevent slippage. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubrication when drilling metals to extend tool life and improve hole quality. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or damage before each use; a dull or chipped bit can cause oversized holes or workpiece damage.
