The CLEVELAND C71150 is a jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size No. 50, with a decimal diameter of 0.0700 inches. Manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) with an oxide coating for added surface protection, it features a 118-degree standard point angle and a regular spiral flute geometry with web thinning for improved chip evacuation and reduced thrust. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks. At 2 inches overall length with a 1-inch flute length, this bit is suited for general-purpose drilling in metal, plastic, and similar materials. It is installed and used by machinists, maintenance technicians, electricians, and plumbers who require precise small-diameter hole production.
The C71150 is designed for general-purpose drilling applications where a small-diameter, wire-gauge-size hole is required. The 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration make it effective in light-to-medium duty production and maintenance drilling. The oxide finish provides mild corrosion resistance during storage and use. This bit is appropriate for bench drill presses, handheld drill/drivers, and CNC drilling operations requiring wire gauge No. 50 diameter holes in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber-length drill bit conforming to ASME B94.11M and DIN 338 dimensional standards, fitting any standard drill chuck or collet system that accepts a 0.0700-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Install in a properly sized drill chuck and confirm the shank is fully seated and the chuck is tightened before operation. Power down or unplug the drill before changing bits. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubrication when drilling ferrous metals to extend bit life and maintain dimensional accuracy. Dispose of worn bits per shop safety procedures — small-diameter HSS bits are brittle and can snap under lateral loading.
