The CLEVELAND C71107 is a wire gauge size 7 jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal, wood, and plastic. Manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) with an oxide finish for improved lubricity and corrosion resistance, this bit cuts at a standard 118-degree point angle with a right-hand spiral flute pattern. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.2010 inches in diameter, matching the cutting diameter, for secure chuck engagement. Overall length is 3.625 inches with a flute length of 2.4375 inches. This bit is web-thinned with a tapered web configuration to reduce thrust and improve chip evacuation during drilling.
The C71107 is suited for maintenance, fabrication, and light production work across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general metal trades. It fits standard drill presses, hand drills, and right-angle drill motors. The 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral type make it appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole applications in mild steel, aluminum, copper, and thermoplastics. Individual packaging makes it practical for tool crib stock or field kit use.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit compatible with any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.2010-inch straight-cylindrical shank, including handheld drills, drill presses, and right-angle drilling attachments.
Installation is performed by machinists, fabricators, and licensed trade technicians using standard drilling equipment. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and confirm the workpiece is clamped or fixtured to prevent movement. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling ferrous metals to extend bit life and maintain dimensional accuracy. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace when the bit no longer cuts freely or produces oversized holes.
