The CLEVELAND C70368 is a 29-piece screw machine length drill bit set designed for metalworking and general-purpose drilling applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright/uncoated finish, these bits feature a 135-degree split-point tip that reduces walking and allows drilling to begin without a center punch. The straight shank design is compatible with standard drill chucks. The set covers a size range from 1/16 inch to 1/2 inch in 1/64-inch step increments, giving technicians a complete inch-fraction assortment for production and maintenance work. Right-hand cutting direction is standard throughout the set. The entire kit is stored in a durable metal or plastic case for organized jobsite access.
Screw machine length bits are shorter than jobber-length bits, which improves rigidity and reduces deflection in tight spaces or when drilling through thick stock. This set is well-suited for metal fabricators, maintenance technicians, plumbers, electricians, and HVAC installers who need reliable hole-making across a range of inch-fraction sizes. The Series 2330 meets NAS 907 specification, making it appropriate for demanding metalworking environments where dimensional consistency and bit performance are required.
Designed for use with standard drill presses, hand drills, and mill spindles accepting straight-shank bits. Suitable for metalworking and multipurpose drilling in steel, aluminum, and similar materials across residential and commercial trade applications.
Install and remove bits only when the drill or press is fully powered down and the chuck has stopped rotating. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling ferrous metals to extend bit life, even though these bits do not support through-coolant delivery. Ensure the workpiece is clamped securely before drilling to prevent spinning and injury. Follow applicable workplace safety codes when operating rotary cutting tools.
