The CLEVELAND C70327 is a screw machine length drill bit in wire gauge size No. 23, with a decimal diameter of 0.1540 inches. Built from high-speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and minimizes the need for a center punch on most workpieces. The stubby screw machine length profile — 2-1/16 inches overall — gives machinists and production drillers better rigidity and control in drill presses, CNC turret machines, and screw machines. Two spiral flutes with a web-thinned, parallel web configuration promote chip evacuation and reduce thrust. Diameter tolerance is held to +0.0000 to -0.0007 inches, meeting ASME B94.11M and NAS 907 Type C standards. Sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 12 units.

Installation and use should be performed by machinists or qualified trade professionals familiar with rotating cutting tools and machine tool safety. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before starting the spindle, and verify chuck runout is within acceptable limits for the tolerance class of the hole being produced. Apply an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain hole quality. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit when diameter tolerance or point geometry can no longer be maintained.
