The CLEVELAND C70205 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 72, with a decimal diameter of 0.0250 inches. Built to NAS 907 Type J standards, it uses an M42 cobalt steel construction and carries a gold oxide coating for heat and wear resistance. The 135-degree split point reduces walking on entry and lowers the thrust needed to start a hole. With a web-thinned, tapered web configuration and a regular spiral flute, this bit is engineered for heavy-duty drilling in production and maintenance environments. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and HVAC or sheet metal fabricators working with tight-tolerance small-diameter holes are the primary users.
This bit is suited for drilling aluminum and other non-ferrous materials where precise, small-diameter holes are required. The 0.0250-inch diameter and 1-1/8-inch overall length make it appropriate for instrumentation work, fine sheet metal, and close-tolerance mechanical assemblies. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without modification. Two spiral flutes provide efficient chip evacuation during through-hole drilling in shallow workpieces. This is a single-piece unit sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 12 pieces per order.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling choice for any drill press, CNC machining center, or hand drill equipped with a chuck capable of holding a 0.0250-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This drill bit is installed by machinists and fabricators using standard drill press or CNC equipment. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck before operation to prevent slippage. Coolant-through capability is not available on this bit, so apply cutting fluid externally when drilling materials that generate significant heat. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace if chipping or wear is visible, as small-diameter cobalt bits can fracture under side load if dulled.
