The CLEVELAND C70125 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for heavy-duty drilling applications in metal fabrication, maintenance, and industrial service work. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a gold oxide coating, this bit offers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 135-degree split point reduces walking at start and lowers thrust requirements, allowing faster, cleaner entry without a center punch in many situations. At 4.92 inches overall length with a 3.189-inch spiral flute, it delivers the reach and chip-clearing performance expected in a standard jobber configuration. This bit meets NAS 907 Type J specification and is rated for professional use.
The C70125 is suited for drilling aluminum and other non-ferrous and ferrous workpiece materials in shop and field settings. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.374 inches diameter fits standard 3-jaw drill chucks on both bench and handheld equipment. The regular spiral flute pattern and web-thinned, tapered web geometry make it well-suited for production drilling where consistent hole quality and tool life are priorities. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, pipefitters, and HVAC service technicians working with sheet metal and structural material will find this a reliable everyday bit.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement drill bit compatible with standard 3-jaw drill chucks accepting a 0.374-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Listed for primary use in aluminum workpiece material per manufacturer specification, and suitable for general-purpose drilling in comparable non-ferrous and ferrous stock within the 0.350 to 0.400-inch diameter range.
Secure the shank fully into a properly sized chuck and confirm the chuck is tightened before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling ferrous materials to maximize tool life, noting this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Follow applicable shop safety practices including eye protection and workpiece clamping. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or rounding is observed at the point.
