The CLEVELAND C70058 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in metalworking and fabrication applications. Built to NAS 907 Type J standards, this bit features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and cutting pressure at the start of each hole. The M42 cobalt steel construction and gold oxide coating provide heat resistance and extended tool life compared to standard HSS bits. At 1.417 inches overall length with a straight-cylindrical shank, the C70058 suits standard drill chucks and driver collets used in production and repair environments. Machinists, pipefitters, and fabricators working with aluminum and similar materials will find this bit suited to both hand-held and machine-mounted drilling operations.
The C70058 is intended for drilling aluminum and other non-ferrous metals in light fabrication, HVAC equipment assembly, plumbing fixture work, and general trade shop use. The 1.1 mm diameter (0.0433 inches decimal equivalent) makes it appropriate for pilot holes, tap prep, and small-diameter through-holes. The regular spiral flute and tapered web configuration promote efficient chip evacuation during continuous drilling. This bit sells individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 12 units per order.
Designed as a jobber-length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and machine spindles accepting a straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.0430-inch shank diameter. Rated for aluminum as the primary workpiece material per manufacturer specification.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with drilling equipment. Secure the workpiece fully before starting the drill to prevent movement. Ensure the drill chuck is tightened correctly and the shank is fully seated before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid for aluminum to maintain bit temperature and prolong cutting edge life.
