The CLEVELAND C70014 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in metalworking and fabrication applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a gold oxide coating, this bit delivers heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting through aluminum, stainless steel, and other hard or abrasive materials. The 135-degree split point reduces walking and enables faster penetration without a center punch. At 3-7/8 inches overall length with a 2-5/8-inch flute length, it fits standard drill chucks and magnetic base drills used in trade and industrial work. This is a heavy-duty grade bit rated to NAS 907 Type J standards.
The C70014 is suited for use in maintenance, mechanical, HVAC fabrication, and general metalworking environments where repeated drilling into aluminum or similar non-ferrous and ferrous materials is required. The straight cylindrical shank accommodates standard 3-jaw chucks on benchtop drill presses, portable hand drills, and mag drills. Its regular spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation during through-hole drilling. Tradespeople working with sheet metal, structural channels, or equipment housings will find this bit appropriate for production and field use alike.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement or working-stock drill bit for applications requiring a 15/64-inch diameter hole in aluminum and similar materials, compatible with any standard straight-shank drill chuck accepting a 15/64-inch shank.
Installation and use should be performed by machinists, maintenance technicians, or trade professionals familiar with drill press and portable drill operation. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and ensure the chuck is fully tightened on the straight shank before starting. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling ferrous materials to preserve coating life. Follow standard shop safety practices including eye protection and proper RPM selection for the workpiece material and bit diameter.
