The CLEVELAND C60835 is a straight flute tap designed for left-hand thread cutting in through-hole applications. Built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it cuts a 3/4-10 UNF thread profile to a 2B class of fit with an H3 thread limit. The taper chamfer makes it well suited for starting threads cleanly in through-holes. With 4 flutes and a 1-13/16 inch thread length, it provides adequate chip clearance and engagement for production and maintenance threading tasks. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians use this tap on manual and CNC lathes, drill presses, and tapping heads.
The C60835 is intended for through-hole threading operations across a range of materials including cast iron, non-ferrous aluminum, stainless steel, and steel. Its left-hand thread direction makes it the correct choice wherever left-hand fasteners or reverse-thread assemblies are required. At 3-13/16 inches overall length with a 0.590 inch shank diameter, it fits standard tap holders sized for this class of tooling. Use a cutting fluid compatible with the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve thread finish. Inspect the tap for wear or chipping before each use, and never force a tap that has stopped advancing, as breakage in the bore is difficult to recover.
