The CLEVELAND C60029 is a 4-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from sub-micrograin carbide with a bright uncoated finish, it delivers consistent cutting performance in precision machining applications. The 3/8 inch diameter tool features a 38-degree helix angle and variable index geometry, which helps reduce chatter and improve chip evacuation during slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece. This tool is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
The C60029 is a regular-length end mill with a 7/8 inch length of cut and a 2-1/2 inch overall length, making it appropriate for standard-depth milling passes in production and job-shop environments. Its straight shank with 3/8 inch diameter fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders commonly found on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. No chipbreaker geometry is present, making this tool best suited for continuous-cut applications rather than interrupted heavy roughing.
Designed as a standard 3/8 inch straight-shank end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and side-lock toolholders accepting 3/8 inch shanks on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Verify shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the rated length of cut when programming axial depth of cut.
