The CLEVELAND C57182 is a spiral point tap designed for through-hole threading in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous base materials. Built from high speed steel with a bright finish, it cuts a 3/8-24 UNF thread profile with a right-hand, plug chamfer entry. The 3-flute spiral point geometry pushes chips forward ahead of the tap, making it well suited for machine tapping in through-hole applications where chip evacuation matters. Thread limit is H4, and the class of fit is 2B, targeting standard tolerance threaded assemblies. Overall length is 2.9375 inches with a thread length of 0.75 inches.
This tap is used in production and maintenance machining environments where consistent UNF thread quality is required. It is appropriate for through-hole applications in alloy steel, carbon steel, and aluminum workpieces.
