It carries a 5-40 UNC thread form with an H2 thread limit and a 2B/3B class of fit, making it a practical choice for small-fastener work in light manufacturing, electrical panel assembly, and instrument fabrication. The tap features two flutes and a right-hand thread direction, with an overall length of 1.9380 inches and a thread length of 0.3100 inches.

This tap is intended for use in aluminum, copper alloys, low carbon steel, and magnesium. Its bottoming chamfer allows threading to proceed into the full depth of shallow or closed-bottom holes where a plug or taper tap cannot reach. Installation Notes
