The CLEVELAND C57032 is a spiral point tap designed for blind hole threading in a range of common materials. It is sized 2-56 UNC with a bottoming chamfer, making it suited for threading close to the bottom of a blind hole where full thread engagement is needed. The tap features a 2-flute, right-hand spiral point geometry that pushes chips forward during cutting, reducing chip interference in the flutes. Manufactured from high speed steel with a bright finish, the C57032 carries a Class 2B thread fit and an H2 thread limit. Overall length is 1.75 inches with a 0.44-inch thread length. Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom professionals using standard tapping equipment.
This tap is intended for blind hole threading applications in softer to medium-hardness materials. Rated material applications include aluminum, copper alloys, low carbon steel, and magnesium. The bottoming chamfer style is appropriate when a through-tap or plug tap has already been used to start the thread and full depth threading to the bottom of the hole is required. It is sold individually and is part of the Cleveland Series 1012 tap family.
Designed for blind hole threading in aluminum, copper alloys, low carbon steel, and magnesium. Part of the Cleveland Series 1012 tap line. Best used as a finishing tap following a plug or taper tap when threading must extend to the bottom of a blind hole.
This tap is installed by machinists using a standard tap wrench, tapping head, or CNC tapping cycle. Always ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the tap is aligned perpendicular to the hole before beginning. Power down or disengage spindle rotation before changing or inspecting the tap. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines for cutting fluid selection based on the workpiece material.
