The CLEVELAND C55685 is a standard pipe tap designed for cutting 1/2-14 NPTF threads in ferrous and hard metals. Built from high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this tap offers increased surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tools. It features 4 flutes with a regular hook geometry, a thread length of 1.375 inches, and an overall length of 3.125 inches. The TiN finish reduces friction during threading, extending tool life in production and field service environments.
