The CLEVELAND C55384 is a spiral point plug tap designed for through-hole threading in ferrous and hard materials. Built from high speed steel with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) finish, it cuts a 12-24 UNF thread to a 2B class of fit with an H3 thread limit. The three-flute spiral point geometry pushes chips forward ahead of the cutting zone, keeping the flutes clear during through-hole applications. At 2.38 inches overall length with a 0.5-inch thread length, this tap is sized for compact fastener applications. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical trades use this tap when re-tapping or threading new holes in cast iron, stainless steel, and carbon steel components.

The C55384 is well suited to production and service environments where through-hole tapping is required in cast iron, stainless steel, and steel workpieces.
