The CLEVELAND C55332 is a spiral point tap designed for through-hole threading operations in metal fabrication and maintenance applications. It cuts a 1/2-13 UNC thread profile using a 3-flute, plug chamfer geometry that pushes chips forward ahead of the cutting edge, keeping the flutes clear and reducing the chance of chip packing. The tap is manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) and coated with titanium nitride (TiN) to extend tool life and reduce friction during cutting. Installation Notes

Tapping should be performed by a qualified machinist or trained technician following standard shop safety practices. Secure the workpiece firmly before tapping and ensure the starter hole is drilled to the correct tap drill diameter for a 1/2-13 UNC thread. Apply an appropriate cutting fluid or tapping compound to lubricate the tap and reduce heat buildup, particularly in steel workpieces.
