The CLEVELAND C54733 is a 1/2-13 UNC bottoming hand tap designed for cutting internal threads in blind and through-hole applications. Made from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this 4-flute straight flute tap operates in a right-hand direction and meets Class 2B thread fit with an H5 thread limit. The overall length is 3.375 inches with a thread length of 0.94 inches. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this tap for precision threading work in production and repair environments where controlled thread depth and tight tolerances are required.
The C54733 is suited for both blind hole and through-hole threading operations across a range of workpiece materials. Its bottoming chamfer allows threads to be cut close to the bottom of a blind hole, making it a practical choice when thread engagement depth is critical. Compatible material applications include alloy steel, aluminum, carbon steel, and free-machining stainless steel. This tap is part of Cleveland Series 1003 and is sold individually.
Designed for blind hole and through-hole threading in alloy steel, aluminum, carbon steel, and free-machining stainless steel workpieces. Part of Cleveland Series 1003.
This tap is intended for use by machinists and skilled tradespeople operating drill presses, CNC tapping equipment, or performing hand tapping. Always secure the workpiece and use the appropriate tapping fluid for the workpiece material before starting. Ensure the tap is properly aligned to avoid cross-threading or tap breakage. Do not force the tap — back off periodically to break chips when working in blind holes.
