The CLEVELAND C53660 is a Size 10 spiral flute screw extractor designed to remove broken or seized screws in the 2-1/8 to 2-1/2 inch range. Also known as the EZY-OUT screw extractor, it is machined from carbon steel for durability under the torque demands of extraction work. With an overall length of 5 inches, it provides adequate reach and leverage for most broken-fastener removal tasks. This tool is used by maintenance technicians, pipefitters, plumbers, and general trade mechanics whenever a fastener shears off flush or below a surface and must be backed out without damaging the surrounding material.
The C53660 is suited for use in residential and commercial maintenance applications where large-diameter fasteners are common, including heavy pipe flanges, structural connections, and industrial equipment. Its spiral flute geometry bites into a pre-drilled pilot hole and transfers counterclockwise torque directly to the broken fastener shank, allowing controlled extraction with a standard tap wrench or appropriately sized wrench. It is a single-piece tool packaged individually.
Designed for use with broken or seized fasteners measuring 2-1/8 to 2-1/2 inches in diameter. Requires a pilot hole to be drilled into the fastener before use; pilot drill size should be matched to the extractor manufacturer specifications for Size 10.
Screw extractors are typically used by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, millwrights, and maintenance mechanics. Before extraction, power down or de-energize any equipment associated with the broken fastener and relieve any system pressure per applicable safety procedures. A correctly sized pilot hole must be drilled into the center of the broken fastener before seating the extractor. Apply steady, controlled counterclockwise torque — avoid shock loading, which can cause the extractor to fracture inside the fastener bore.
