The CLEVELAND C52154 is a cobalt square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers the heat and wear resistance required when cutting high temperature alloys, stainless steel, and carbon steel. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life per unit. It features a 30-degree helix spiral flute geometry, right-hand cut, right-hand flute, and is centercutting — allowing plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. This is a production-grade tool suited for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in both shop and field environments.
The C52154 is part of the Cleveland HDC-2 series, engineered for regular-length milling in ferrous and heat-resistant materials. With a 7/32-inch cutting diameter and 1/2-inch length of cut, it is well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations in steel, stainless steel, and high temperature alloys such as titanium and nickel-based superalloys. The straight cylindrical shank with Weldon flat accommodates standard end mill holders and set-screw toolholders commonly found in vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Designed for use with standard straight-shank end mill holders and Weldon flat set-screw holders with a 3/8-inch bore. Intended for milling operations in high temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel. Part of the Cleveland HDC-2 regular-length series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop-standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque set screws to holder-manufacturer specifications — do not rely on hand tightening alone. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to maximize tool life and prevent heat-related edge degradation.
