It features a 13/32-inch (0.4062-inch) diameter with a 118-degree standard point angle and a bright, uncoated finish. The bit measures 5.25 inches overall with a 3.875-inch flute length, giving it reach suited for a wide range of production and maintenance drilling tasks. A web-thinned, tapered web design reduces thrust load at entry. This bit is installed and used by machinists, millwrights, pipefitters, and maintenance tradespeople working on metal fabrication and mechanical assembly applications.
The C48812 fits standard drill press and handheld drilling operations targeting steel and cast iron workpieces. With a straight shank diameter of 0.500 inches, it seats in most 3-jaw chucks without adapters. This bit should be installed and operated by qualified tradespeople familiar with metal drilling procedures. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; use external cutting fluid when drilling ferrous materials to manage heat and extend tool life.
