The CLEVELAND C46277 is a combination drill and countersink designed for simultaneous drilling and countersinking in a single pass. Built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool features a bell-style cutting edge with a 60-degree included angle and a 118-degree drill point angle. The 3/16 inch drill point diameter and 3/16 inch point length make it suited for trade size 16 applications. It is a right-hand cut tool with a double end type, offering extended tool life by allowing the user to flip to the unused end when one side wears.
This combo drill countersink is used in metalworking and fabrication applications where a countersunk seat must be formed before or during fastener installation. It performs on alloy tool steel, aluminum, carbon steel, and cast iron. With an overall length of 3 inches and a bell diameter of 0.40 inches, it fits standard drill press and CNC setups commonly found in machine shops, HVAC fabrication, plumbing rough-in metalwork, and electrical panel fabrication environments. Machinists, fabricators, and trade professionals handling sheet metal and structural steel work are the primary users.
Suited for use on alloy tool steel, aluminum, carbon steel, and cast iron workpieces. Compatible with standard drill press chucks, CNC machining centers, and lathe tailstocks accepting the tool shank diameter. Designed for applications requiring simultaneous drilling and countersinking, trade size 16.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists or trade professionals using a drill press, lathe, or CNC machine. Secure the workpiece firmly before operation and confirm the spindle rotation is set to right-hand before engaging the cut. Use appropriate cutting fluid for steel workpieces to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Inspect both cutting ends before use and replace the tool if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
