The CLEVELAND C46205 is a single-end, four-flute countersink designed for precise countersinking operations in metalworking applications. Built from high speed steel with an oxide coating, this tool produces clean, accurate 82-degree countersunk seats for flat-head fasteners. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.25 inches in diameter, and the overall length is 1.656 inches. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard drill press and hand-drill setups. Licensed machinists, tool and die workers, and maintenance mechanics install this type of tooling in production and repair environments.
This countersink is suited for work in alloy tool steel and cast iron. The 82-degree included angle matches the standard flat-head screw geometry used throughout North American fastener specifications. With a head diameter of 0.375 inches and a centerline angle of 41 degrees, it is sized for smaller-diameter fastener countersinks in precision or close-tolerance assemblies. No pilot is included, so a center-drilled or pre-drilled hole is required before use.
Rated for use in alloy tool steel and cast iron. The 0.25-inch straight shank is compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting that shank diameter.
This tooling is installed and used by machinists and metalworkers operating drill presses, milling machines, or hand drills. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and ensure the workpiece is clamped to prevent movement. Always reduce spindle speed when countersinking harder materials such as cast iron to extend tool life. Wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable shop safety procedures.
