The CLEVELAND C46186 is a single-end, three-flute countersink designed for deburring and chamfering operations in carbon steel and cast iron workpieces. The tool features a 1.25-inch head diameter, a 60-degree included angle (30-degree centerline angle), and a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 0.5 inches in diameter. Finished with an oxide coating for light corrosion resistance and chip clearance, the C46186 is built from high speed steel for durability across general machine shop and production line applications. Right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation on mills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. Installation and use is handled by machinists and toolroom professionals.
The C46186 is suited for countersinking holes in carbon steel and cast iron components in both job shop and production environments. Its 1.25-inch head diameter accommodates larger-diameter countersink requirements where smaller tooling would be impractical. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard collets or tool holders with a 0.5-inch bore. The pilotless, single-end design is appropriate where the operator controls depth via machine stop or CNC program rather than a guide pilot.
Designed for countersinking operations in carbon steel and cast iron materials. Suitable for use in any machine tool equipped with a standard 0.5-inch straight-bore collet, end mill holder, or drill chuck. No pilot bushing is included or required.
Machinists and toolroom technicians install this countersink into a compatible 0.5-inch collet or tool holder and secure to the manufacturer-specified torque for that holder type. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before tool changes. Set countersink depth using a machine stop, depth collar, or CNC program offset rather than relying on a pilot. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and do not run at speeds or feeds outside the tool manufacturer-recommended range for high speed steel in the workpiece material.
