The CLEVELAND C46102 is a single-flute countersink designed for creating conical seat holes in carbon steel and cast iron workpieces. Manufactured from high speed steel with an oxide finish, it features a 1/4 inch head diameter and an 82-degree included angle, making it suited for standard flat-head fastener seating. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3/16 inch in diameter for secure chuck retention. Right-hand cutting direction and a single flute design deliver clean, controlled material removal in production and maintenance drilling operations. This tool is installed and used by machinists, toolroom technicians, and general metalworking tradespeople.
The C46102 is applied in countersinking operations on carbon steel and cast iron components. Its 82-degree included angle corresponds to the standard flat-head machine screw seat geometry used in a wide range of fabrication, assembly, and repair applications. The single-flute configuration reduces chatter on manual drill presses and handheld power tools, making it practical for both bench and field use. It is suited to light industrial, HVAC equipment fabrication, and mechanical assembly tasks where consistent countersink depth and angle are required.
Designed for countersinking operations in carbon steel and cast iron. Compatible with standard drill presses, CNC drilling equipment, and handheld power tools accepting a 3/16 inch straight cylindrical shank.
Secure the 3/16 inch shank firmly in the chuck before operation and verify that the workpiece is clamped or fixtured to prevent movement. Use appropriate cutting speeds for high speed steel tooling in the workpiece material to avoid overheating and premature wear. Cutting fluid or lubricant is recommended when countersinking steel to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Inspect the cutting edge before each use and replace the tool if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
