The CLEVELAND C41602 is a 2-flute square end mill designed for precision material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. Manufactured from high speed steel (HSS), this end mill features a 0.125-inch cutting diameter, a 0.375-inch length of cut, and a 0.375-inch straight-cylindrical shank with a Weldon flat for secure toolholder engagement. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Centercutting geometry allows for direct plunge entry into a workpiece. This tool belongs to Cleveland's HG-2 series and is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and maintenance environments.
The C41602 is suited for milling operations on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Its regular-length configuration and 2-5/16-inch overall length make it appropriate for standard-depth slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling tasks on manual mills and CNC machining centers. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute orientation are compatible with conventional spindle rotation on most vertical milling setups. The uncoated HSS construction allows for resharpening and is a cost-effective option for lower-volume runs or applications where coated carbide tooling is not required.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Compatible with standard 3/8-inch bore end mill holders and collets used on vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's tooling and runout specifications. Secure the shank fully into the tool holder, engaging the Weldon flat set screw to prevent axial pullout under load. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against published HSS cutting data for the target workpiece material before starting the cut. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or adjusting tooling.
